Hi, I’m Liz Gregg, a freelance photographer with 20 years’ experience taking photos for national magazines and international clients (click to see my commercial website). I’ve photographed celebrities, musicians, soap stars, sports people, reality tv personalites . . . and it’s fantastic! But do you know what I love as much as photography? Dogs! I love them!!! I love bonding with them, playing with them, training them . . . and yes photographing them! I’ve literally taken thousands of photos of my dogs, which you can see on my Instagram account @blackwhite.gold. With nearly 50,000 followers, it’s been featured by @instagram three times. If you get a minute, drop by and take a peek at my active life with my @blackwhite.gold dogs.

After taking some photos of the black white gold girls using a studio setup I use for my commercial work, I decided I wanted to take similar photos with other dogs. I call these my Snap Catch photos! They are glossy, fun and often cartoon-like images of dogs catching treats. My high-speed flash captures he action, and the expressions on the dogs’ faces are priceless. I find it quite addictive, and totally joyous. But, if a dog isn’t a treat catcher, that’s ok too. I can still find a way to show off their special character and beauty.

If you’re a business, such as a doggy day care creche or a dog groomers, looking for a way to offer something a bit different and exciting to your customers then do get in touch and we could organise a Snap Catch day at your premises. You’d get a huge selection of photos to make your business and social media feed really stand out!

So, if you’re a dog owner or if you have a doggy business I’d truly love to hear from you. x

there’s a few ways to get a snap catch photo shoot of your dog . . .

websitebutton1.jpg

Sessions are advertised on Snap Catch’s social media and on the make a booking page.

Just book a 45 minute time slot that’s convenient for you. The £60 photo shoot price includes the photo shoot, a retouched fine art print of your choice and it’s corresponding social media size digital file. Sessions can be for 1 or 2 dogs.

On the day of the shoot, show up with your dog and any toys, treats or acessories you might want to use. I’ll have a variety of dog treats available, but if your dog is fussy or has specific dietary requirements, please bring your own, and lots of them! We can discuss the type of photos you’re after as I meet your dog and they get used to me and the environment. I shoot with my camera tethered to a laptop so you’ll see the photos as I take them. (Although I’ve never failed to get a picture, some dogs can be nervous in a new environment, and might find the setup overwhelming. This can make it difficult to get as many shots or the variety that I like. Please be realistic and if your dog really doesn’t enjoy new situations, this may not be right for him/her. Maybe a bespoke session in their own home may work better for him/her)

A few days after the shoot I’ll send you a link to a gallery with all the photos from the day, along with a list of additional products, including popular mounted photos, like aluminium triptychs and acrylic orbs.

You pick the one image you’d like as your A4 print. (and additional prints if you’ve decided you’d like more)

I’ll retouch the image(s), print, and post. I’ll also email you the retouched jpeg.

a dog portrait session with lizzie for free!

Taking the Show on the Road

Initially, I just photographed dogs locally, but now I’ve found a way to offer my dog photography to people in the rest of the UK. By finding interested groups of dog owners who are friends from their daily dog walks, members of an agility or flyball club, or people who are connected through the same dog groomer or vets . . . it makes it worth my while to travel and set up my studio. It would maybe be a bit silly to travel for hours to take photos of one dog, but it makes total sense to travel to take pictures of 8 !

I’d love to meet with you and your group to photograph your dogs and capture the unique character you see in your canine friends.

What you Get and what it costs

Each participant gets:

  • a 45 minute photo session of your one of two dogs

  • one A4 print (21cm x 29.7cm, 8.27 x 11.69in), fully retouched and printed on fine art archival paper

  • a jpeg file of your chosen image for you to share on social media

The cost per person (for their one or two dogs) is £60

But even better, the photo shoot organiser gets their session, art print, and jpeg for free!

How does it work?

1. Find between 8 and 10 (including you) friends who are interested in having a 45 minute photo studio session of their dog.

2. Find a location for the photo shoot. This could be a room in someone’s house, a conservatory, a village hall, an office space.... it just needs to :

  • be dog friendly

  • have electricity

  • have parking

  • be at least 4.5m (15ft) x 3m (10ft) big.

If you can’t think of anywhere, I could find somewhere, divide the cost of the location hire between everyone, and add it to their session price.

3. Get in touch with me to arrange a booking:

4. Once we’ve found a shoot date that’s good for everyone, I’ll set up an online booking system where people can pick the time slot they’d like and pay for their session.

5. This can make it difficult to get as many shots or the variety that I like. Please be realistic and if your dog really doesn’t enjoy new situations, this may not be right for him/her.)

6. A few days after the shoot I’ll send you a link to a gallery with all the photos from the day, along with a list of additional products, including popular mounted photos, like aluminium triptychs and acrylic orbs.

7. You pick the one image you’d like as your A4 print. (and additional prints if you’ve decided you’d like more)

8. I’ll retouch the image(s), print, and post. I’ll also email you the retouched jpeg.
